My name is Lyra. This is my story.
About me
Greetings! I'm Lyra Ramayrat, a third-generation Filipino-American based in Silicon Valley. I aspire to improve and be better each day — in the field of performing arts, science and business. I am committed in making a positive impact to my community and the whole world.
Everyday is a fun and busy day for me. My interests include the performing arts, singing, dancing, and social entrepreneurship. Outside of academics, I am either practicing (or performing) for a play or choir, leading our Women in STEM and Tri-M Music Honor Society or helping keep families together by building a virtual work and talent marketplace through my service project VirtualPro.
I love learning and collaborating. If you are a young social impact founder/technologist, a theater geek, or dance choreographer (hiphop), connect with me. I am excited of what we can create together.
Performing Arts
I love theater. The first time I performed was in my third grade. Then I played Mulan for my first lead role. I've participated in numerous plays, including roles in the Children's Musical Theater and Lincoln Performing Arts.
Here is a list of my theater credits:
In addition to performing, I also love watching Broadway shows in NYC, San Francisco, and locally here in San Jose.
I complement performing with my passion for singing. Currently, I am a soprano vocalist at Lincoln HS Choir, taught by my outstanding teacher Kira Dixon. I have attended various singing workshops taught by Vocal Jazz Academy and Jessica Ford. During my early years, I trained under Pam Serrano. I am the section leader of our group, Estetica and serve as president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
I started dance as a youth performance team member of (The Get Down Studios). I also dance in local studios like On One Studios where I was part of the Gobstoppers junior dance team. I also operate my own dance studio in San Jose, which I share with my dance friends. Currently I am a team member of Syndikidz, the youth dance team of Syndicate. We train at the NorCal studio once a week.
Technology and Leadership
VirtualPro is a work and talent marketplace which helps small business owners in the US find and hire digital workers based in the Philippines.
My brother and I started this project after learning that over 1.8 million overseas Filipino workers are separated from their families every year. With a remote-first talent platform, our goal is to connect Filipino workers with businesses based in the US, so they can stay home, be present, and provide for their families.
My role as a co-founder is community engagement and marketing. I collaborate with the team to grow the VirtualPro VIP network and also manage our social media presence. I work with virtual professionals we've hired using the platform to help me manage my day-to-day activities.
I am also excited for our next project called Theta, an intersection of my interest in NeuroBiology and Technology. Stay tuned!
I lead two clubs at Lincoln High that serves our choir students and young women leaders who have interest in STEM.
Sports and Academics
In addition to dance (yes it is a sport), I am learning how to play golf once a week, or when time permits. I train at the local Muni and at Pruneridge Golf Course. My goal is to be at least a recreational player and enjoy the game with my family.
I am currently exploring Neuroscience for my college studies. I am interested in science and math; hoping to learn more about our brain works and evolve over time.

Social Impact
Build. Give. Create positive impact.
Giving is one of my favorite topics. I firmly believe in providing value first, whether it's to my schoolmates by raising awareness of STEM in women; or within my community to battle food insecurity; or to keep families together through technology.
Some of my volunteer activities include:
Food Distributor - Fall 2024
Tree planting - Spring 2024
Volunteer dance instructor - Spring 2024
Food Prep - Winter 2024
